A Little Unwound

So…here is my best attempt at trying to organize myself for this next year. It is pretty packed, and I probably will fail epically at sticking to it, but for now, it is the best I have. 🙂 It will be fun each month to see how close I came to sticking with it.

Free weeks are weeks to work on my own personal projects, or finish up something I got close to finishing on another week. WIP weeks are for me to work on the massive box of WIP I have accumulated over the last several years. Each week will have orders as a priority, obviously, but all the rest of my time will be dedicated to working on whatever is “due” that week. And maybe, just maybe, I will be better prepared this year.

An Open Letter to Hillary Clinton

expose the truth!!!

Dear Mrs. Clinton,

Congratulations on securing the Democratic nomination for president of the United States. It’s historical! It’s liberating to women! You’ve broken the glass ceiling!

But at what cost?

As the mother of a beautiful young daughter, my desire is to teach her every day that she is priceless, valuable and precious beyond anything else in this world. I tell her that God has placed her on this earth for a very specific reason. I make sure that she never doubts her place here.

How exciting it would be for us to celebrate the accomplishments of the first woman ever to receive the presidential nomination of a major political party! Wouldn’t it be amazing if I were able to point my daughter to someone she could look up to and admire? Unfortunately for myself, my daughter and millions of other women in this nation, I can’t.

Last Friday I received the most unusual telephone call of my career. As I answered the phone the man on the other end of the line said, “This is US Customs and Border Protection. We have a man here who says he is attending your national meeting…” He gave me the man’s name and after investigating it with the national committee chairs in my state we were all amazed that the detained man was lying. He was attempting to get into the United States illegally and was using this national meeting held in our state to get through. Fearful thought that an enemy is reading anything on the internet to find a way to lie their way to gain entrance.

Some Like it Hot: Jalapeno Wine

Urban Overalls

I love southwestern cuisine.  The complex flavors.  The spiciness.  The heat.   One such item that has those characteristics is the humble jalapeno.  Sure… we love it diced into salsas.  Roasted with a cream cheese filling.  And of course… it is a must in some of the green chilis that we create.  Heck… even pickled, it shines.  But with a bumper crop, we decided to think outside of the box and try something brand new for us.  Jalapeno wine!

Now some of you may be thinking, “Ewww… that would be gross”.  Or, “It would be way too hot to drink”.  But trust me… sometimes the unexpected  can surprise you with a sublime flavor.

The recipe to follow has been adapted from the Jalapeno Wine recipe from Jack Keller at http://winemaking.jackkeller.net.

Jalapeno Wine

• 48, blemish-free jalapenos
• 3 boxes (15 oz. each) golden raisins, chopped
• 6 lbs. sugar
• 1 1/2 tsp. acid blend

I have received some heat lately from friends regarding my attitude toward conservative candidates. How can I explain . . . I have been fighting the pro-American fight for decades. I do believe in the Constitution, and Conservative ideals. I have studied history, and the founders. America is one of a tiny group of nations originally created for Gods glory.

And then again . . . America is like the Civil War – fought primarily for the power of the dollar and control – disguised by the cause that captured the imaginations and heart strings from every good soul in America. The end of slavery is a noble cause. If only it were completely true. How do you explain millions of Americans working their butts off for 45+ years with little to show for it when they retire; and millions of Americans and Illegals living off of the workers. ALL…

There have been a lot of good sermons delivered in the last few weeks, because those in political / societal control are turning the American ship further into deep destructive waters – destructive waters that most Americans are not brave enough to stand up against. Washington is a reflection of the majority in America. For truly, if millions of Americans were keeping Washington in line with God’s traditions and laws, our entire existence would change for the better almost overnight. America would be the nation she once was, when other nations worked to emulate the overall positive existence of the American people. Our government would once again tow the line of the majority of the people for fear of losing their jobs. Satan would crawl back under his familiar rock to hide for another season.  But, I can sum up the reality of all Biblical wisdom, and end time prophecy in one question:
